It may take quite a long time to break free of a homeless or semi-homeless pattern, but realize that it probably took you a long time to get to this point and it will take an equal amount of time, to get out. You probably will need to break the past negative patterns that led you down this path in the first place–negative relationships, job “failure,” overspending. lack of treatment for a major mental illness or addiction, etc. Strive to get into a rehab shelter or program for the homeless and get the ancillary help you need==whether it be medical, debt counseling, job counseling, etc. Out of whatever income you can generate or is available to you, start to save money toward your own place to stay and other necessities. Remember, you ms\ay be asked for first and last month’s rent plus security deposit. Start small, an efficiency. Single rooms tend to be too depressing. Be patient. It took me a year to break the pattern; others may need more time.
